4th of July

Monster marshmallows -- That's one way to keep Molly quiet
We went to a local college to view fireworks before the 4th and spent the day of the 4th at Dave & Cheri's house (of our college gang). It was a beautiful way to celebrate our country's independence and we had fun as always.

Abby & The Tennis Team 2009

Abby was given strict orders by Paul and me to pick either the swim team or the tennis team at the swim club to which we belong. Reluctantly, Abby chose tennis. A couple of years ago Abby participated in tennis clinics during the summer, so she decided tennis was the lesser of the two evils. She did practice with team, but only participated in two meets. Abby didn't love or hate being on the team. I would love to see her fall in love with the sport, as it's one that I never played, but sometimes wish I had.

Swim Season 2009

Here are a few pictures of the swim team season from the summer. The pictures are pretty self-explanatory. Molly loves swim team! She's still not interested in doing fall or winter swim, but the summer swim team sure is her thing.

Hammy's House

Our neighbors asked Abby and Molly to care for their hamster and the girls jumped at the opportunity. Not only did they give Hammy wonderful care, they created a house for him out of Legos. The highlight was putting Hammy in the house and watching him go from one floor to the next and ending up on the rooftop patio.

Silly Sisters

I was in the mood to take a quick picture of the girls, just for fun. Boy, they gave me a run for my money. They got hit with some silly mood and each time I was ready to snap a picture they held up something -- a fruit bookmark or even a stapler and the remote control. You can see from their smiles they were two giggly girls.

We got to go to New Jersey this summer to help celebrate college graduation of our niece, Sarah. We had a fun time hanging out with our extended family. And most importantly, we were glad to be a part of the festivities to honor Sarah!

Baseball Babe!
Molly played her 4th season of baseball this summer. Molly does not have a love-hate relationship with baseball -- she does not love nor hate it. She just did it. I think this past summer will be her last on a baseball team, as that ball comes across the plate mighty fast and it can be a bit too scary for timid Molly. She held her own and finished the season and we are proud of her efforts.
