Springtime Beauties

While we were at the park yesterday, I took a bunch of pictures of the girls with the flowers. I have to admit, it was easier to take pictures of the girls with the daffodils when the girls were smaller. Now they have to "scrunch" down to get their faces near the flowers. We laughed and laughed as we tried new ways of getting success. Some pictures were not so successful, but I think we got some good shots. Hope you enjoy these pictures of the springtime beauties.

Daffodils by the Dozen

There is a park near our house that has a place where there are dozens and dozens of daffodils each spring. It's fun to go and see the different varieties. Each time we looked a new direction we noticed another kind. (For those of you who want to correct me: I realize some of these flowers are narcissus, not daffodils.)

Casper, Casper, Casper

King Casper upon his new throne.
Casper as he recovers from his surgery.
Casper turned 14 in February. He's 11 months older than Abby, which means we have two teenagers living at our house. Reality tells us, however, that Casper is the oldest member of our family when you convert his age into dog years. He is such an amazingly good dog and has brought us so much joy, but he's slowing down a bit these days. His vision and his hearing isn't up to par, but he's still our pooch and we love him. The day after Easter he had to have a cyst removed from his front left leg, so while he was "out" for surgery we also had his teeth cleaned and in the process, it was determined he needed to have a couple of teeth removed. His leg is healing well and he's in his glory eating soft food as his gums recover. I made him a new bed for the living room and these pictures are of him giving it a try.

Easter Day 2009

The annual family Easter picture.
All dressed up and warmer inside.
The girls FINALLY found all of their eggs --
purple ones for Abby and blue for Molly.
Casper wants to know where his Easter basket is.
Casper and Buckeye (my parents' dog) are great friends.
After church we drove to my parents' and spent the afternoon into evening there. The girls had their annual Easter egg hunt, we listened to Molly give us a little piano concert as she sight-read some piano music, the "boys" took naps, and just hung out together. The day was bright and sunny, but a little chilly. All in all, it was another Easter full of happy memories.

He's Not Here...He Has Risen!

On Easter morning we had a walk in tomb for the preschoolers at church. Inside they did not find Jesus, but instead they found Angel Abby or Angel Molly, who told them the good news that Jesus was not in the tomb anymore because He had risen! The preschoolers loved this and it was a lot of fun to see their reaction as the Bible story came to life for them.

Entertainment... Girl-Style

Aren't they cute?
"Cheese!"
They really do like each other!!! Sometimes.
Oh silly Molly!
Whose kids are these two anyway?
Notice only Molly's left eye is crossed.
Monkey Molly
Can you do this with your tongue?
I dare you to try!
How about this tongue trick?
Can't do it either, can you?
Of course...a picture of Molly taking a picture in the mirror.
And this is entertainment?
Abby just relaxing with a good Nancy Drew book.
A little posing for the camera.
See what happens when I leave my camera unattended? Not sure who thought to do this, but the girls got a hold of my camera while they were hiding out in one of the bedrooms at Grandma Rita's and had their own little photo shoot with one another. Some of the pictures speak volumes, don't you think?
