Last night Abby and Molly got in the mood for brownies. We didn't have any made, but had a box of brownie mix. They worked together and before we knew it, the smell of delicious chocolatey brownies was drifting into the living room. I didn't help with the making of the brownies AT ALL! Our girls are certainly growing up. And in case you were wondering, the brownies were/are scrump-dilly-icious!

Mother's & Father's Day 2009
Taking time for a family portrait.
I just realized that some of my pictures were stored on a different memory card and I didn't download them to the blog yet. So, by default, I'm combining Mother's Day with Father's Day this time. It's a somewhat annual tradition at our house to take a picture of the "parent of the day" with the kids. It's fun to see how we change over the years.

Good Bye 3rd and 7th Grades
June 10th was the girls' last day of school. Molly completed third grade and Abby finished seventh. In the fall both girls will be the tops of the totem poles at their respective schools, being in the oldest grade in elementary school and middle school. Molly commented over and over how fast this past school year zipped by. Abby and I certainly agreed. I guess time does fly when you're having fun.
"There were three in the bed..."
The last weekend of May our church had a day of canoeing for dads and their kids. Abby was too old (and not interested even if she wasn't too old), but Molly was ready to go again, as she and Paul have paricipated in this annual canoe day for the past two years. It ended up that Molly invited two friends Rebecca and Alexandra to tag along. The girls spent the night at our house the night before going canoeing and I snapped a picture of the "three in the bed." Paul did not take our camera with him, but a couple of the other dad on the adventure did take pictures, so I'm hoping to get copies to post soon.
Memorial Day 2009
Our Memorial Day started out with the annual town parade. Molly chose to walk with folks from her elementary school. Later we grilled out, went swimming at the swim club to which we belong, and then ended the day having our friends Gail, Tom, Sarah, and Jennie over for s'mores on the fire pit. The day's amount of fun was decreased when the reality that the girls had school the next day hit. Summer was so close we could taste it, but it wasn't there yet.
Piano Recital
Catch-Up...Again
Looks like I've done it again. Life has been happening in full force, but I haven't taken the time to update the blog. Shame on me. Guess it's time to fill in the gaps of May and June.
